Hi Sander,
Thanks for sharing this useful list of iPhone apps for designers, very well done.
I know it’s out of the topic, but I can’t resist to share with you Noise.io (http://noise.io/), a “unique, new-generation sound synthesizer for iPhone / iPod Touch featuring revolutionary user interface and technologies: ESFM, ControlSurface, SoftRibbon and many more” as they say, and I must confess: I can’t live without now anymore! : ) Tell me what you think about it if you have the chance to buy it!
Cheers,

As a designer (theatre and film) these apps are a blessing. When I am on the go, on set or at the studios and need to do a quick calculation, I can now just pull out my iPhone 3G and run the App and I’m done. No more lugging a MacBook or PC around. This is a god-send for all designers both Tech Theatre and Film/TV!

Nice collection of Apps! I love MRMR. You can do some wicked things with it, quite a neat piece of coding.
If you want a nice looking App to take youre files with you, scope out LookSee. Looks nice and runs nice!

Great list, you should also look at FontViewer and WhatTheFont. WhatTheFont is particularly good. You take a picture of some text and it tells you what font it is. Genius! Keep up the good work.

iPhone App Market is really getting popular just after the releasing of iPhone 3G and now iPad have also potential to stay in and interact with iPhone developers. Which i think is really an amazing changed. Thanks

“Font Combinations” is our first app — you can learn different typefaces and create pairs to see how they relate visually. You can instantly see, for instance, why Garamond or Bembo goes with Helvetica as it’s body copy, but not something close to Helvetica, like Myriad. You don’t need a zillion fonts to create some very distinguished looks — you do need a good set of basic typefaces though. This app helps you work through that a little. If you like typography, you’ll get a kick out of being able to just switch up the fonts with a swipe.

We just released an iPhone CAD app. Its called SitePAD and lets the user create a simple 2D CAD drawing file — whilst out and about, and then export it to their desktop for further work. Definately worth a look!
Darren Kutcheon
I’d add DesignRuler. It’s a tiny version of the clear plastic ruler you use to measure type sizes, leading, and line thickness. Seems to have been overlooked on a lot of these lists.
