Coudal Partners presents Layer Tennis, a design competition played live on internet.

Each artist gets fifteen minutes to complete a “volley” and then we post it to the site live. A third participant, a writer, provides play-by-play commentary on the action, as it happens. A match lasts for ten volleys and when it’s complete, Season Ticket Holders tell us what they think and we’ll declare a winner, so sign up today.

White Space: How to Get it ‘Right’

A great article by Mark Boulton taken from his PDF book Five Simple Steps: A Practical Guide to Designing for the Web. This article learns you how to add white space in order to get an effective design.

Space is important in layout. Space can be created by content – such as text, images, lists, logos etc. – or it can be created by the space in—between content, called negative space, or whitespace.

Hi Sander, it’s great that you’re showcasing recently launched and redesigned sites like this. I look forward to future installments.

Welcome to twitter and thanks for letting us know you’ve joined. I’ve just followed you :)

Thanks for listing Thinking for a Living! This round-up of sites makes for great company. You also should check out AisleOne (http://aisleone.net/) and The Grid System (http://thegridsystem.org/) by my friend Antonio Carusone. I think you’d enjoy them.

I like how your round-up is not specific to resources. There’s a lot of resource websites out there who like to make giant lists of other resource websites for some reason as of late.

Thank you all for your nice comments and the twitter follows! Very appreciated.

@Duane King — thanks for the mention of Antonio Carusone. I simply love his dedication to grid systems.

Thanks again and have a great weekend!

One of the best round-ups I have seen recently. Thanks for Logofi’d. And so that’s what Layer Tennis is, I’ve been very clueless (and I did not even bother searching for it). Beautiful. Thanks.

    And I’ll follow you. :)
