Happy holidays, comment for water

Christmas holidays are here and 2009 is nearly over. What a year this has been, a roller coaster with ups and downs. The past year has been hard for me personally and we experienced the credit crunch at the company. At the end of 2009 we can say the situation has stabilized and we are looking forward to 2010.

Charity: water

charity: water
This year I was looking for ways to donate money to charity and get people aware of problems in the world. For some time I am triggered by charity: water a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations.

Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don’t have access to safe, clean drinking water. That’s one in eight of us.

charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. They give 100% of the money raised to direct project costs, funding sustainable clean water solutions in areas of greatest need. Just $20 can give one person in a developing nation clean water for 20 years.

This sounds like a great charity. It’s horrible how many people have to rely on dirty, infested waters.

Oh, by the way, I like your redesign very much. What’s the name of the header font you used?

Thank you Mantiuxa - and all the best for you aswel.

Hi Michael Kozakewich - Thanks for your comment. I was shocked to find out 1 out of 8 people don’t have access to clear drinking water. Hopefully we can make a difference by supporting charity: water.

Good to hear from you again Frank - Hope everthing is good for you and happy holidays. The header typeface is Axel from Erik Spiekermann, great legible typeface, thank you for your comment.

Thanks Youssef Sarhan - for your comment, appreciated. Hope your London trip was great, looking forward to your final thesis! Good luck.

There’s plenty of water. What there is is too many people. Everybody wants to solve some side problem and ignore the real one.

Grow a brain and donate a dollar to free condoms and contraceptives, maybe family planning education, for people everywhere.

Hi Hank Fox - thank you for your suggestion. The growing humanity is a problem but even if the population was to stop growing as from today many people still are facing problems with getting clean drinking water.

Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.

Please take a look at the page why water to get a dept insight on why water is so important. Good luck and happy holidays.

I’ve been following your blog for a while but have never commented. But thought I should do so now for a good cause.

I’m currently in the midst of doing some projects for the water industry. When I first started on these projects I, too, was shocked to see the statistics showing the number of people dying from drinking unclean water and that so many people do not have access to the clean water many of us take for granted.

Kudos to your for this very admirable project you have going :)
