Well, you've made me want the book, so that's a very successful review! I used to buy a lot of design books, and this would be a good place to start getting back into that scene.

Looks very interesting. I will certainly get it for our office. Great post by the way, I for one am o.k. with the openness and feel it allows for a less objective experience for the reader, more of a report. Your blog is amazing and I return often for a few minutes break from work.
Have a great Christmas and New Year Sander

cheers,
Hartmut

Hi Sander,

I'm glad you added your response to Frank's comment, because I too, was left wondering if you recommended the book or not.

Thanks very much for this insight. Looks like one I'll be adding to my 'to read' list (as soon as I get through the seven or eight eagerly awaiting my attention).

Ciao for now.

Thanks Frank - for your sharp interpretation.

I found Identity 2.0 a very interesting read because of its inset on branding, design & visual communication. The articles are written by key figures from the network of Total Identity, making this book a great reference guide on how identity works and how to use the information in your own daily activities. What intrigues me is the openness of the information and insights on the work Total Identity has achieved in the past & ideas for the future. I enjoy reading the interpretation Total Identity has on design philosophy. The cases & essays are spread though out the book and give a insight on the approach on client cases.

Overall if you are into design, branding, visual communication and philosophy taking your designs to a higher level, this is the book for you!

Thanks again for your comment, appreciated!

Hi Sander,

Some positive critics:

You present this blog post as a review, but I miss your own opinion on this book. Now it looks more like a description of the book.
Thereby, it has a loose end. Maybe you can add a 'conclusion', insert your own opinion and explain why the reader should buy it or not.

Your style of photography reminds me of my own (dutch) reviews here and here.
